Continuing from our previous blog post on Blog Management, which you can find at https://help.getoiling.com/en/articles/56, we're excited to delve deeper into the blog settings, fields, and features available in GetOiling. This article will further enhance your understanding and help you make the most out of your blogging experience. So let's dive in and explore more ways to optimize your GetOiling blog!

To locate the Blog settings, you can either select Blog Posts > Blog Settings or can visit this URL to be taken to the settings page - https://getoiling.com/app/posts/blog-settings

Blog Archive Header

The Blog Archive Header offers a customizable feature that enhances the visual appeal and consistency of your blog archive page, which can be accessed by placing the /blog at the end of your domain. By visiting yourdomain.com/blog you will be viewing the built-in blog archive page.

Displayed at the top of the archive page but not on individual posts, this header allows you to create a distinct and eye-catching introduction to your collection of articles. By tailoring the header design to complement your blog's theme and style, you can establish a cohesive and engaging browsing experience for your readers, encouraging them to explore your content further on the archive page.

Automatically Show Posts from Another Blog

To seamlessly integrate relevant and timely content from trusted external blogs, such as YL USA, YL Canada, YL Australia, or YL EU blogs, simply enter the URL of the blog's RSS feed into the designated field when using one of the built-in themes that come with your website. If you're unsure how to find the RSS feed URL for a blog you'd like to use, reach out to support@getoiling.com for assistance.

IMPORTANT - this feature is exclusively available when using one of the built-in themes that come with your website. The imported content from external blogs will be displayed at the bottom of the page, ensuring easy access and visibility for your readers. You can also select the Learn > Updates from your websites menu to be taken directly to the blog.

Personalization Options

Personalize your blog's appearance by customizing the page headers, footers, individual post footers, and sidebars to reflect your brand's identity and style, ensuring a unique and cohesive experience for your readers.

Blog Page Header

This element is displayed at the top of each page in the blog, including both individual blog posts and the blog archive page, creating a consistent look across your blog.

Blog Page Footer

Positioned at the bottom of each page in the blog, this section is visible on individual blog posts as well as the blog archive page, reinforcing your branding and style.

Individual Post Footer

Located at the bottom of each individual blog post, this area can be utilized to add a call-to-action, such as a link to a landing page, consistently across all your posts.

Extra Sidebar Content

Enhance your blog's appearance by adding content to the sidebar, which will be displayed on both individual blog posts and the blog archive page.

Extra Sidebar Code

Use the Extra Sidebar Code field to insert additional content or code into your blog's sidebar, such as social sharing buttons. This feature allows you to embed third-party content or tools in the sidebar on each blog post and the blog archive page.

Automation to run for blog commenters

Streamline your response and engagement process by setting up automations for blog commenters. After they comment on a post, the automation will be triggered, enabling you to perform actions such as removing tags, adding campaigns, and more. This feature ensures efficient and timely interactions with your audience.
